In November we are going to watch a performance of school tours 2006/2007 of Vienna's English theatre. This year our play is called Dance Class and we are just preparing it for the performance. Today we were reading a rap which is a protest song against dancing. So our English teacher Mrs Agnes Formanek suggested to write our own raps. Thinking of the end of last school year we started to write anti-school-raps. Here they are:

Nina, Nina

We have holidays

And free for many days.

We don’t have no school

And that is real cool.

Now we have a lot of fun

And that is because of the sun.

We eat a lot of ice

And that is very nice.

Boys, girls – we all hate school

Lessons after lessons – we all hate school

Tests and quizzes – we all hate school

We all hate school!

Learning, learning, learning

My brain is nearly burning!

Home-exercises every day,

I must say, that’s definitely not okay!

Every teacher always picks on the girls and boys,

With this terribly loud voice.

Being kept at school is a crime

And the biggest waste of time.

Now there are holidays - at last we can be lazy,

Otherwise we’re going cazy!

I want no school

Because it’s not cool!

My mother always says learn for school

But I’ll go to a party with my friend!

I don’t like tests

But I like the rest!

The last ten months were full of pain.

Especially for our brain.

The lessons were not fun

I often wished I had a gun

And then the old would run

Away from me to the sun

I'm happy that there are holidays

They're going to be funny days.

We'll have a lot of fun

School year is over-that's the best!

The homework was hard,

But we stayed smart.

From the big boys

Who destroyed our toys.

In English we had much fun,

We ate our Chewing Gum.
