In our town called Hollabrunn near Vienna there are a lot of schools.
HTL
The biggest school is the HTL. At this school you can choose between many departments. You can choose an electronical education. In this school you build motors or little vehicles. The most important subjects are maths and physics. You can also choose “engine construction” (Maschinenbau) and “industrial engineer” (Wirtschaftsingeneurswesen) and „food technology “ (Lebensmitteltechnologie). You can either take 3 years or do the leaving exam after 5 years.
HAK
At this school you learn a few things about modern industry. There are 5 classes. The most important subject is bookkeeping. At the HAK you can take your leaving exam. In the first class you don’t have any maths or physics. But you have to choose between a few languages, for example Spanish or Russian. You also learn a lot about computers. HAS is nearly the same school like the HAK, but the difference is that the HAS lasts three years and it’s not so difficult. At the HAS you cannot do your leaving exam.

HBLA
At this school you can learn Spanish, fooding (Ernährungswissenschaften) and wellness, cooking and a lot more. This is one of the biggest schools in our town. The HBLA lasts 5 years. After the school you can do a lot of jobs like clerk, cook and nurse.
BG/BRG HOLLABRUNN
This school is in fact the same school like ours. The only difference is that you can choose more languages.
